Digital transformation for the education sector

The paneoVR tool for immersive 360° video training is a web and VR application. It is based on a concept for low-barrier access and cost-effective content creation. At the heart of the application is an authoring tool/editor for independently and easily creating digital (VR) educational content. No computer science or media technology expertise is required.
The concept was developed in the project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) ViRDiPA and, thanks to its versatility, provides a general-purpose solution for all disciplines and occupational groups.
All standard VR headsets and desktop and mobile devices are supported. The centerpiece remains the web-based editor for creating 360° video scenarios of any complexity. All PaneoVR player apps are available in the Download center.
Under the Getting started section, learn how to create your first scenario in just a 10-minute video tutorial!

Your expertise. Your content. Our platform.

PaneoVR gives you the tools to create immersive 360° training experiences tailored precisely to your needs.

Do you teach at a school, university, or training institution and want a modern way to bring hands-on learning to life? Or do you need an efficient way to onboard and train employees in line with your company’s own processes and standards?

With PaneoVR, you create the content – simply and intuitively. We provide the technology that makes it immersive.

Why VR training?

Learning procedures and actions through hands-on practice is an essential part of vocational education. However, setting up authentic training in the real world often requires significant effort, causes material wear and consumption, or involves risk. In some circumstances, “on-site” instruction is not possible at all. This is where the strengths of virtual reality (VR) learning environments come into play. Repeatability, safe and authentic learning environments, location independence, and cost efficiency are key reasons why virtual training is a valuable addition to vocational education. The PaneoVR tool was designed so that this VR content can meet individual needs without incurring excessive costs.

Collaborative research

In cooperation with the Mixed Reality Lab at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, PaneoVR is also the subject of research and development aimed at optimizing human-machine interaction techniques. Projects ranging from case studies to experimental enhancements are being conducted to ensure that the Paneo environment continues to offer the best possible usability and greatest benefit.

With PaneoVR, our teacher education students were able to create short practice scenarios for healthcare and nursing trainees within a single semester, without any prior knowledge of virtual reality. We are very grateful to the developers for providing the software and for their friendly support whenever we had questions.

Project from 2020–2023

From 2020 to 2023, the interdisciplinary ViRDiPA research group developed, tested, and evaluated a blended learning qualification concept for the use of VR technology in nursing education. By integrating this technology into a contemporary teaching and learning format, the project aimed to support the practical acquisition of professional knowledge and make it easier to make the decisions required in day-to-day work.
The pilot group consisted of equal numbers of staff from
workplace-based and school-based education at three cooperating training centers for healthcare professions. More information about the project here.

Diagrams created in the paneoVR editor can automatically be used as scenarios.
